The Scouts and Guides of Chelmsford take to the stage!

Every year, over 100 of Chelmsford’s Scouts and Guides come together to produce and perform an exciting collection of song, dance and comedy at Chelmsford Theatre.

The Gang’s All Here!

Since 1958, the Scouts of Chelmsford have performed a Gang Show every year (except in 2020 and 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic). More recently, they’ve invited the Chelmsford Divisions of Girlguiding to join them on stage. The Chelmsford Gang Show gives local Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Guides, Rangers and leaders the chance to get involved in something truly special.

Each year, we perform our show at Chelmsford Theatre – a professional venue, seating around 450 audience members, with spectacular sound and lighting functionality. Being part of our show gives everyone the chance to perform, including those who might not otherwise be able to. Being part of the show gives our young people the opportunity to develop friendships which will last well beyond their years on stage, not to mention developing confidence and #SkillsForLife.

On stage, everyone you see is aged between 8 and 25 but behind the scenes, we’ve an amazing team of volunteers from Scouting and Girlguiding who do everything the show needs, including producing and directing items, making costumes, building props and scenery and looking after our young people.
